Dumitru Popescu is Professor at the Faculty of Automatic Control and Computer Science. He holds MSc degrees in both Electronics&Telecomunications(1966) and Mathematics (1975) from Universitatea Politehnica Bucureşti and Universitatea Bucureşti respectively. He received PhD degree in Automatic Systems in 1978. Among his research interests are Mathematical Programming and Optimization, Control and Decisions, Numerical Real Time Control Systems, Large Scale Systems. Prof. Popescu has been invited professor at universities from France and Italy,being member of PhD commissions at ESIA and Ecole Centrale de Lille. He is PhD advisor. He is author/co-author of 18 books, over 170 scientific articles and 5 patents.
